Takefusa Kubo, one of Japan’s top talents, missed training after being substituted out of three consecutive games. As it turns out, the rest was for injury prevention.
On the 29th (KST), Japanese soccer publication Soccer Digest quoted local Spanish media as saying, “Kubo missed training on the 28th. There is a bit of an uproar,” local media reported.
Kubo’s potential exploded at Real Sociedad last season. He scored nine goals and provided six assists in 44 official matches. At the end of the season, he was named Real Sociedad’s Player of the Year. Real Sociedad finished fourth in La Liga and qualified for the UEFA Champions League. 메이저놀이터
Prior to this season, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal reportedly made an offer for Kubo, but he turned it down. Al-Hilal reportedly offered Kubo a four-year contract worth around $230 million. Kubo was so determined to stay with the team that he turned down such a huge offer.
The start of the season was a little strange. Since the start of the Spanish Primera Liga, he has scored one goal and one assist in three games. Real Sociedad are currently on a three-game winless streak and have scored just two goals. Kubo has been involved in all of their goals.
However, Kubo hasn’t played a full game yet this season. The team’s best-performing player is constantly being subbed out during games. “I’m thinking about replacing him,” said former J-Leaguer Sotaro Yasunaga, who commentated on Kubo’s game for Japan’s DAZN.
“The season has just started, so even if I can…” he trailed off. After the match, Sotaro continued, “I think about replacing Kubo. It’s something that’s been going on since the opening game,” and questioned the substitutions during the match.
This, coupled with his absence from training, led to local speculation that Kubo was unhappy. As it turns out, the reason for his absence was injury prevention.
According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Kubo has a mild strain in his right quadriceps. He didn”t train as a precautionary measure. He is expected to be available for the upcoming match against Granada.
