Major League Baseball’s (MLB) San Diego Padres outfielder Ha-Sung Kim has hit again in two games. San Diego hosted the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida, on Sunday (Feb. 2).
Ha-Sung Kim started in the same spot as the day before. He played third base and batted first. He did his job in the leadoff spot.
He went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk and scored two runs. Her season batting average remained at 2-for-4 with 40 hits in 166 at-bats.
It was a rough start. In his first at-bat in the top of the first inning, he worked a full count against Miami starter Jesús Lúzardo, but struck out swinging.
The long-awaited hit came in his second at-bat in the top of the fourth inning, when he was down 0-1. Kim once again led off and swung at a three-pitch pitch from Luzzardo.
The pitch hit the left field fence. Kim rounded first base and stole second. It was his first long ball in six games since May 25 against the Washington Nationals.
He then stole third on a wild pitch by Fernando Tatis Jr. It was his 10th stolen base of the season, giving him double-digit stolen bases for the second straight season.
He came home on a single by Tatis Jr. San Diego tied the game at 1-1 when Kim scored on the play.
San Diego took a 2-1 lead in the inning on Brandon Dixon’s sacrifice fly. Kim singled to left field in his third at-bat in the top of the fifth, but in his fourth at-bat in the top of the sixth, with runners on second and third, he drew a walk.
San Diego scored a run. Tatis Jr. singled again. It was a three-RBI double that brought all three runners home, and Kim scored his second run of the day.
San Diego turned the top of the sixth into a big inning. They scored seven runs in that inning alone to put the game out of reach. They went on to win 10-1, avenging a close loss to Miami the day before.
Tatis Jr. went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. San Diego starter Joe Musgrove received offensive support and earned the win with six innings of one-run (unearned) ball. He improved to 3-2 on the season 메이저사이트.
