The schedule for the 2023 Asian Cup, which had been postponed due to China’s return of the hosting rights, has been announced.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the 2023 Asian Cup schedule on its official website on the 5th (Korean time). The competition starts on January 12, 2024 and ends on February 10, 2024. The draw for the 24 finalists has been decided to be held in Doha, Qatar, on May 12.
Originally, the event was scheduled to be held in China from mid-June to mid-July this year. However, the tournament was postponed when China returned the right to host the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Korea also stepped up to host the 2023 Asian Cup, but Qatar took the hosting rights. Since it is impossible to hold the tournament in the summer in Qatar, it was confirmed that the event will be held in the winter as well. 메이저놀이터
In this competition, Korea runs with the goal of winning. Korea is proud to be the best in Asia, but after winning the first and second tournaments, it has not held the Asian Cup trophy in its hands for 63 years. In response, Jurgen Klinsmann, coach of the Korean national team, promised to win the Asian Cup.
Qatar, which hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is showing its will to successfully finish the Asian Cup as well. Seven stadiums that were used during the World Cup, including Education City Stadium, where Korea made the World Cup round of 16, will be used as they are. Only the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium was added to this.
