Bayern Munich have reportedly triggered Kim Min-jae’s buyout clause.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reported on Thursday (June 14), “Kim Min-jae is not on Napoli’s list of defenders. Munich is in contact with Napoli after triggering Kim’s buyout clause, and all that remains is to wait for an official announcement,” according to a report by Corriere dello Sport, which said that Munich has triggered Kim’s buyout clause.
“Napoli will secure a transfer fee of 50 million euros ($71.1 million) and Kim will join the team on July 26 in Tokyo, Japan, after a short vacation,” the outlet continued, explaining that Kim, who is currently resting in South Korea after completing basic military training, will join Munich in time for the team’s preseason tour in Japan.
It was literally fast-paced. Once Munich became interested in Kim, they quickly made an approach and reached a personal agreement. During the process, Kim had to travel to South Korea for basic military training, but his overseas agent was in constant contact with Munich and reportedly negotiated an agreement. Munich was willing to pay Kim’s buyout amount and offered him a high salary to win him over.
Munich were keen to sign Kim Min-jae. In order to finalize the deal quickly, the club’s medical team traveled to South Korea to conduct medical tests on the player on the same day as his release from training camp. This was so unusual that the German media even used the phrase “crazy medical” to describe it.
It was expected that an official announcement would be made soon after the medical, but it was quiet for a while. With Kim’s buyout clause expiring on July 15, local Napoli fans seemed to hold out one last hope that he might stay with the club. However, with reports that Munich has triggered Kim’s buyout clause, Napoli fans will have to let him go. 토토
Napoli must now focus on finding a replacement for Kim. According to the Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have offered €35 million to sign Wolverhampton defender Maximilian Kilman. Aside from Kilman, Napoli are also keen on finding a replacement for Kim Min-jae, with several players being linked to the position.
